Victor Osimhen scored the only goal as Galatasaray defeated Besiktas 1–0 in a tense Istanbul derby in the Turkish Süper Lig.
The Nigerian striker found the net late in the first half, heading from close range after a cross from Leroy Sané.

Osimhen decides the derby
Galatasaray took the lead in the 39th minute when Sané delivered a cross into the box, and Osimhen rose highest to guide a header into the bottom corner.

The game became more difficult for Galatasaray in the second half when Leroy Sané was shown a red card after a VAR review in the 61st minute.
Besiktas pushed forward in search of an equaliser, creating chances through Orkun Kökçü and other attackers.
However, Galatasaray defended well, and goalkeeper Ugurcan Çakir made important saves to protect the lead.
Nine minutes of stoppage time were added, but Besiktas were unable to find the equaliser as Galatasaray held on for a narrow derby victory.

Victor Osimhen’s goal continued his impressive run in the league. The Nigerian forward has now contributed to goals in eight consecutive Süper Lig matches.
