Paul Onuachu continued his superb goalscoring form with a brace as Trabzonspor tightened their grip on third place with an emphatic 3-1 win over 10-man Kayserispor on Monday.

The Super Eagles striker has been in remarkable form since returning from the 2025 African Cup of Nations tournament and scored for the ninth consecutive match.
The Trabzonspor forward took his tally to 20 for the league season and 22 across all competitions, extending his gap at the top of the golden boot charts.
An own goal from Biyal Bayazit made it three, while the hosts grabbed a late consolation through German Onugkha.

Trabzonspor went into the clash on the back of three consecutive wins in all competitions and were hoping for another win to tighten their stronghold on third position and keep the gap on the top two.
They were handed a favour just eight minutes into the clash as Kayserispor were reduced to 10 after Dorukhan Tokoz was sent off.
Trabzonspor gained the ascendancy with their one-man advantage and went in front in first half stoppage-time as Onuachu headed home from a Wagner Pina cross.
Laszlo Benes then conceded a penalty after a handball with few minutes to the interval, allowing Onuachu to score his second of the game.
Oleksandr Zubkov struck the post early in the second half, before Bayazit put the ball into his own net to make the scoreline 3-0 in favour of the visitors.
Onugkha pulled one back for the home side in the 83rd minute, but Trabzonspor held on for a comfortable 3-1 win.
Trabzonspor moved up to 54 points and are just three points behind second-placed Fenerbahce, with nine matches left to play.

Trabzonspor return to action next weekend, hoping for another win when they face Rizespor on Saturday.
