Jordan head into the clash against Nigeria after a 2-2 draw against Costa Rica in their opening encounter last Friday. Despite taking a two-goal lead in the clash, they let the lead slip after conceding two late goals, including one in stoppage-time as Costa Rica sealed a valuable point.

Jordan qualified for a first-ever World Cup after a 3-0 win over Oman in June 2025 and will compete in group J alongside defending champions Argentina, Algeria and Austria in their maiden appearance when the 2026 edition kicks off in the summer.

Nigeria, on the other hand, head into the clash needing a victory to secure the four-nation tournament title, after recording a 2-1 win over Iran in their opening encounter.

The Super Eagles will not be participating at the World Cup after they missed out qualifying, but have continued their impressive form from the 2025 African Cup of Nations tournament, where they earned a third-placed finish.

The three-time African champions dominated the match against Iran and scored an early goal in each half through Moses Simon and Akor Adams, which pushed them to victory. They are ranked 26th in the FIFA World rankings and will fancy their chances against their 64th-ranked opponents.

Jordan are winless in their last two matches, but they won all five of that matches before that run, including victories over the likes of Egypt and Iraq, while their only loss came in extra-time against Morocco.

The Chivalrous Ones have also scored in all of their last seven matches and have managed three clean sheets during this period as well.

Nigeria

The Super Eagles are on a solid run of form and have only lost one of their last eight games, which was a penalty shootout defeat to Morocco at the 2025 African Cup of Nations.

The goal they conceded against Iran was also their first in five matches, including extra-time against Morocco, highlighting remarkable improvement in their defence.
