Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi has expressed frustration with the hamstring injury that has recently kept him out of action for Fulham.

The Nigerian playmaker suffered the injury in the first half of the goalless draw against Brentford last month and had to come off before halftime in the clash after he could not continue.
He has now missed the Cottagers last three Premier League matches – a 1-0 win over Aston Villa, a 3-0 defeat to Arsenal and a 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth, which has seen their hopes of finishing in an European place dashed.
Iwobi has been a key player for Fulham since joining the club from Everton in 2023 and has been a mainstay in the squad. The only games he has missed this season was when he was on duties with Nigeria at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations tournament, where he was one of their best performers as they won a record ninth bronze medal.
Meanwhile, Fulham have just two games remaining in the Premier League this season, against Wolves and Newcastle United to close out the season.
Everything Alex Iwobi said about recent injury problem
Fulham have missed the impact of Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi in recent matches, picking up just three points from a possible nine and have slipped further back in the race for European qualification.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian playmaker has now opened up on how he has been managing the injury and has revealed his desire to return to action very soon.
“I’m just walking through my neighborhoods, going through the shops. Obviously, the reason why I’m doing this is to get some blood flow and oxygen into the legs, make sure my legs are not just indoors, and keep active”, Iwobi said.
“Right now, as it stands, I have got a hamstring injury, so I’m going to keep on the move and get my steps in. It’s unfortunate to get a hamstring injury.
I appreciate the support and the love that everyone’s showing me, and everyone checking on me. As of now, I don’t know how bad it is. I’m able to walk, though I’ve got a limp, so that’s a positive. I’ve got a scan soon. So by the time this video is out, I would have had my results, so I’m praying for a speedy recovery”, the Nigerian midfielder continued.
“I’m just grateful that I don’t really get injured on a regular basis because it is mentally challenging.
“Even me, now that I’m injured, I’m just fuming. I can’t be active, I can’t move freely. But that’s life; it is part of the game,” Iwobi concluded.
Fulham will be hoping to have Iwobi back in action for their final two matches this season, beginning with the trip to the Molineux to face relegated Wolves next weekend.
