Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola believes his side have rediscovered their mojo, following their win over Huddersfield Town in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday.

The Cityzens recorded a 2-0 win at the League One side in the third round of the English League Cup, earning their spot in the fourth round.
Pep Guardiola’s side have bow bounced back from consecutive 2-0 and 2-1 defeats to Tottenham Hotspur and Brighton in the English Premier League with convincing results in their last few matches.
They defeated Manchester United 3-0 in the Manchester derby and followed it up with another convincing display, this time earning a 2-0 win over Napoli in the UEFA Champions League.
Man City also recorded a point away at league rivals Arsenal last Sunday, with Gabriel Martinelli’s stoppage-time equalizer preventing them from grabbing maximum points.
On Wednesday night, they were impressive throughout the match and had too much for their opponents despite missing several key players.
Phil Foden opened the scoring in the first half, after superb linkup with Divine Mukasa, to put City 1-0 up.
The England forward then turned provider in the 75th minute, threading a pass to Savinho, who hit a shot that went in via the crossbar to make the scoreline 2-0.
Up next for City in the fourth round is a trip to Swansea City, who recorded a shock win over Nottingham Forest in their third round tie.
Guardiola was impressed with his players all-round display and declared that his side were back to their best.
“A good one. It is always tricky but we played really good. They changed their shape and we had to improve in the build-up but we did really well in general”, the Spaniard admitted after the game.
“We are in the next round, it is good! I don’t take it for granted. The spirit is back in many things, I am so pleased. It was really good.”
Are Man City really back to their best?
The former Premier League champions endured a disappointing spell in the 2024/25 campaign and ended the season trophyless.
The team struggled in the absence of Rodri, who was out with an ACL injury, while most of their star performers were out of form.
However, there has been signs of improvement in this new campaign especially with the additions of fresh legs to the squad.
They have now recorded impressive wins over Manchester United and Italian champions Napoli and performed excellently against Arsenal last Sunday.
Phil Foden looks back to his best and with Erling Haaland’s devastating form alongside Rodri’s return to action after missing majority of last season with injury, perhaps Pep Guardiola’s side could reclaim their league title from Liverpool.
