Nigeria’s D’Tigress have officially qualified for the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup after beating Mali 73 – 69 to get two wins from three games.

The African queens proved their worth as African champions by defeating Mali by 76-69 to qualify for the FIBA Women’s World Cup billed for September in Australia.

The African champions D’Tigress of Nigeria, on Friday, came back from losing the first quarter to beat world number five France 67-65 in a World Cup qualifying game to boost their qualification chances.

Although it wasn’t the start the African champions wanted, they lost to China 90-76.

With the victory against fellow African opponent Mali, the three-time defense African champions will now fly the continent of Africa flag in Australia.

Mali almost caught up with Nigeria as they became very defensive and reduced the score line, although Nigeria managed to seal the victory with 14 14-point difference.
