However, the scenes at Heathrow were a stark contrast. Approximately 40 eager fans, including young children, were left disappointed as the players departed the airport without acknowledging them.
Supporters had gathered at Heathrow Terminal 3, hopeful of greeting their heroes upon their return. Some had even spent the night at the airport in their eagerness to catch a glimpse of the reigning European champions. Regrettably, the squad exited through a private route, evading their waiting supporters.
