Watford Manager Roy Hodgson confirmed in a press conference that Super Eagles Vice-Captain William Troost Ekong and Senegalese forward Ismaila Sarr suffered muscle strains.

William Troost Ekong picked up an ankle injury in the game against Manchester United last weekend.

It is a muscle strain, the same with William Troost-Ekong, It’s going to keep William Troost Ekong and Ismaila Sarr out of the equation for the foreseeable future, but I don’t know how long exactly.

It’s not a minor thing, it’s not a knock, both have muscle strains, and that can take anything from a week to four weeks to recover from.

It’s going to be a huge blow for The Super Eagles of Nigeria if Troost Ekong doesn’t recover on time.

William Troost Ekong paired well with Kenneth Omeruo during the 2021 Afcon, and both parties seemed to understand each other.

However, if William Troost Ekong won’t be available before the Super Eagles camp opens on the 21st of March, the Gaffer Augustine Eguavoen will have to look at the stand-by list by selecting a replacement for either Chidozie Awaziem or Jamilu Collins.
