Ademola Lookman has praised the growing understanding between himself and Antoine Griezmann at Atletico Madrid, hailing the Frenchman’s quality and influence at the club.

The Nigerian superstar joined Los Rojiblancos earlier in the year from Atalanta and has already impressed in his short time, scoring six goals and providing four assists across all competitions.
Lookman has also developed a great understanding with Griezmann, who is expected to leave the club for a second time at the end of the season.
The French forward already has an agreement with Major League Soccer (MLS) side Orlando City to join them in the summer, putting an end to his second spell at Atletico.

Griezmann has a chance to further cement his legendary status at the club this weekend, when they face Real Sociedad in the final of the Copa del Rey at the Estadio de La Cartuja in Seville.
Everything Lookman said about Griezmann partnership
Speaking in an interview, Nigerian winger Ademola Lookman expressed his admiration for Antoine Griezmann and jokingly urged the Frenchman to rethink his decision to leave Atletico this summer.
“I wouldn’t say surprise me because for me, he’s a legend in football for what he’s brought to the game – for what he, what he is, what he represents,” Lookman said.
“But obviously, training with him every single day, you think: ‘Wow.’ There’s moments where I think: ‘Yeah, maybe you could stay a bit longer, you know?’
“To be able to see that up close every single day is something that, of course, you obviously appreciate and learn from him as well. It’s an absolute pleasure.”
The Super Eagles forward also praised Griezmann for his exquisite contribution in Atletico’s goal as they edged Barcelona to advance to the semifinal of the UEFA Champions League.
Lookman scored the decisive goal in Tuesday’s 2-1 defeat, but the move was started by a brilliant one-time pass from Griezmann, who found Marcos Llorente, who then crossed for the Super Eagles winger to score.
Atletico edged the tie 3-2 on aggregate to advance to their first semifinal appearance in the UCL in nine years.
“The pass [from Molina] to Grizi (Griezmann) makes the play and of course, his touch was amazing. It opens space for Marcos to run into. Then, it’s just for me to sprint as fast as I can just to get on the end of the cross – which I did and thankfully [scored], so I’m really happy”, Lookman concluded.
Lookman has shot at winning his first silverware at Atletico Madrid when they face Real Sociedad in Saturday’s Copa del Rey final.
