Despite often making headlines for controversies, former Uruguay international Luis Suárez continues to defy expectations with yet another history-making achievement.
In the early hours of Sunday, Inter Miami thrashed Atlanta United 4-0 as they continued a push to finish high in the MLS standings to earn a home advantage in the playoffs.
It was a familiar Barcelona connection in action, as Lionel Messi bagged a brace, while Jordi Alba and Luis Suárez each added a goal to seal a commanding win.
With a goal in that encounter, Luis Suarez made history and joined an elite class of names who have reached 600 goals in their career.

Luis Suarez began his career in his native country, Uruguay, where he led them to the league title win before leaving in 2006.
The former Uruguay forward returned for a second spell in 2022 following his exit from Atletico Madrid and was crucial to their success in the 2022 league triumph.
Groningen (15 goals)
Suarez joined Groningen after leaving Nacional for a fee of about €800,000 in 2006. The prolific striker netted 15 times for the Dutch club.
Ajax Amsterdam (111 goals)

Luis Suarez announced himself to the European stages with a very impressive spell at Ajax Amsterdam, after joining in a €7.5 million fee from Groningen in 2007.
He scored 111 goals, but was also involved in several controversies including a biting incident, before leaving the club in 2011.
Liverpool (82 goals)
Despite being suspended at Ajax, Liverpool paid about £23 million to bring Luis Suarez to the English Premier League.
The striker continued his remarkable form, but his time at the Reds was also marred by controversies leading to multiple suspensions.
He ended his spell at the club with 82 goals.
Barcelona (198 goals)

Luis Suarez joined Barcelona in 2014 and formed a lethal partnership with Lionel Messi and Neymar Junior, leading the club to a period of dominance.
He had remarkable chemistry with the duo and scored 198 goals until his departure, winning multiple laurels and trophies.
Atletico Madrid (34 goals)
Suarez left Barcelona in 2020 and joined league rivals Atletico Madrid, whom he led to a first league title in seven years.

Suarez joined Gremio in January 2023, after ending his second stint in his country with Nacional.
He went on to score 29 times for the Brazilian club before departing in 2023.

In 2023, MLS club Inter Miami initially planned to sign Luis Suarez, but were made to wait until 2024 to complete the deal.
The striker reunited with former Barcelona teammates Messi, Busquets and Jordi Alba, leading the David Beckham-owned club to the 2024 Supporters Shield title.
Uruguay (69 goals)
Luis Suarez is Uruguay’s all-time top scorer with 69 goals and is also fourth on the all-time scoring charts for South American footballers, behind Pele (77), Neymar (79) and Messi (114).
