Maduka Okoye was impressed with his performance despite Udinese’s narrow 1-0 defeat to Juventus in the Italian Serie A on Saturday.

The Super Eagles goalkeeper made seven saves in the encounter, but still failed to keep a clean sheet as his side fell to their 13th league defeat of the season.
Udinese remain in 11th spot on the standings, while Juventus boosted their Champions League hopes with a crucial win.
Okoye shines but Udinese lose to Juventus
Udinese played host to Juventus in a match-day 29 encounter in the ongoing Serie A campaign, hoping to return to winning ways after a 2-2 draw against Atalanta in their last match.
Jeremie Boga tested Okoye with an effort, but the Nigerian goalkeeper was equal to the task with a good save, before he denied the same player once again moments later.
However, Boga finally got past Okoye in the 38th minute after he tapped home from a Kenan Yildiz cross to give Juventus the lead.
The game was turning into an Okoye-Boga show and the Nigerian goalkeeper came out better minutes after conceding the opener, before he saved brilliantly from Andrea Cambiasso.
The Super Eagles goalkeeper produced several other fine saves and while he was beaten for a second time in the clash in the second half, the goal was ruled out by VAR.
Okoye denied Fabio Miretti late on in the game, as Juventus closed out a 1-0 win at the Bluenergy Stadium.
Okoye reacts to Udinese defeat to Juventus
Speaking after the match, Okoye who made seven saves in the encounter was impressed with his performance, although he hoped his side had gotten a favourable outcome from the clash.
“Today we had the opportunity to get at least a point, but Juventus is a very strong team. Now we have to focus on the next match,” Okoye stated.
“I’m happy with my performance, but in the end, what matters is that the team gets points.”
Udinese will be back in action on Friday when they face Genoa, hoping to return to winning ways.
