But recent reports indicated that The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) might keep faith with the interim Nigerian coach Augustine Eguavoen after his recent success with the Super Eagles.
The Portuguese Man Jose Peseiro was expected to be in Cameroon as an observer before he takes over from Augustine Eguavoen, but he has not traveled to Cameroon.
A member of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) executive council was quoted on ESPN:
Jose Peseiro is not in Cameroon because the Nigeria Football Federation has not signed a contract with him yet.
If Jose Peseiro had signed a contract, he would have been in Cameroon as we planned.
We are Managing the public trust .so the NFF has to look at what the people want and we also know what we want as well.
What the NFF agreed on is that we want the team to do well, to play good football, to make Nigerians happy, and to win trophies.
