Steve Sidwell has revealed that winger Samuel Chukwueze has greatly impressed him with his outstanding performances for Premier League side Fulham, SportPremi reports.

The Nigerian winger joined the club on an initial loan deal in the summer transfer window from Italian giants AC Milan, with the English club reportedly eyeing a permanent transfer after a great start to his career.
The Super Eagles star has scored twice and provided three assists in eight appearances in the English Premier League so far, including a player of the match performance in his side’s win over Tottenham Hotspur last month.
He provided the assist for Kenny Tete’s opener and was denied a goal by the post and a last-ditch tackle by Micky Van de Ven, capping his first start for the Cottagers with a brilliant showing.
The 26-year-old scored twice after coming on as a second half substitute in the 5-4 defeat to Manchester City last week, almost inspiring his side to a remarkable comeback as they were 5-1 down at a point in the clash.
Chukwueze’s impact will be greatly missed at the club. when he heads to the African Cup of Nations duties with Nigeria later this month.
Sidwell hails Chukwueze’s performances
Steve Sidwell, who played for Fulham between 2011 and 2014, has heaped praises on Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze, who has been in superb form for the club this season.
“He’s been brilliant. He brings that intensity, creativity, guile which is what this Fulham team need”, the former Chelsea player admitted.
“He gets in behind, runs off the shoulder and is clever. He gets in real good positions and isn’t happy playing the safe ball.”
What Next for Chukwueze?
The Nigerian forward will play his final game for Fulham against Burnley next weekend, before heading to the African Cup of Nations with Nigeria.
Chukwueze was included in Eric Chelle’s preliminary 54-man squad and is one of the favorites to make the final squad for the tournament in Morocco.
The 26-year-old could potentially miss up to six matches for the Cottagers, depending on the extent of the Super Eagles stay in the tournament.
Nigeria begin their group campaign against Tanzania on the 23rd of this month and conclude action against Uganda on the 30th.
The winger could be back in contention for the club’s clash against Brighton and Hove Albion on the 24th of January, 2026.
