Manchester United coach Ruben Amorim has revealed that Benjamin Sesko did not start against Fulham on Sunday because he is yet to fully adjust to life in England.
The Red Devils picked up their first points of the season on Sunday when they traveled to Craven Cottage for their second Premier League game of the season.
Recall that they lost their first game of the season to Arsenal last week. But given the quality of their performance in that game, they were expected to get a win over Fulham at the very least.
Just like the game against Arsenal, coach Amorim used a front three of Mason Mount, Matheus Cunha, and Bryan Mbeumo. But big Slovenian striker Benjamin Sesko, who they got from RB Leipzig for €76.5 million, was benched.

Manchester United were impressive in phases, but Fulham stayed in the game. Bruno Fernandes could have given them the lead, but he missed a penalty.
After struggling in the early stages of the second half, coach Amorim introduced Sesko. His introduction gave them the much-needed presence in the final third.
Manchester United eventually scored the opener in the 58th minute after Leny Yoro’s wayward header hit Rodrigo Muniz and rolled into the net.
Unfortunately for them, the Cottagers took charge of the game and later equalized in 73rd minute, courtesy of Emile Smith-Rowe. The game eventually ended 1-1.
Manchester United fans did not take the result well, and many have even called for Amorim’s sack on social media.
During the post-match presser, the Portuguese tactician was asked why he opted to bench Sesko, and he stated that he was not convinced that the 22-year-old striker was ready yet.
“Sesko needs time. Sometimes it’s not easy to come on when the match tempo is very high. He understands that it’s faster than in the Bundesliga, but he’s fighting,” Amorim said.
“When he was on the pitch, it wasn’t necessarily our best moment and that can change the way you see the player, but I’m pleased, because he’s making the effort.”
Benjamin Sesko Has To Start Getting Minutes At Manchester United
Immediately Benjamin Sesko entered the game against Fulham, he looked sharp and adjusted quite seamlessly. So, it was surprising that Amorim started him from the bench.
Moreover, all the other clubs that spent big money on strikers have already started using them.
Amorim has to start giving the Slovenian game time. He will also be hoping that Sesko gets off the mark as soon as possible, as that will reduce the pressure on him.
