Galatasaray forward Victor Osimhen has revealed that the club are hoping to deliver a statement performance in their 2025-26 UEFA Champions League campaign, SportPremi reports.

The Turkish champions sealed a return to the UEFA Champions League ahead of the campaign, after missing out on a spot in last season’s edition.
They began their campaign with a 5-1 defeat at Eintracht Frankfurt, but have bounced back with two consecutive victories to put their campaign back on track.
Nigerian superstar Osimhen, missed the opener, but has found the back of the net twice in the last two European games.
Galatasaray visit Ajax Amsterdam in their fourth match of this season’s league phase, knowing a win would move them closer to reaching the knockout stages of the competition.
What Osimhen said
Victor Osimhen, who made history in the club’s last UCL match against Bodo/Glimt, expressed his intentions in the prematch conference ahead of the tie against Ajax.
Speaking during the interview, the Super Eagles striker believes his side are ready to compete for the title and stake a claim as one of the top teams in the world.
“I spoke with the president when I arrived here and we want to really make a statement in the Champions League.
We want to show that, in Turkey, we are the team that the whole world will know this year because we actually did something amazing in Europe”, Osimhen said.
“We’ve dominated the league for years. We will keep on dominating it, but now it’s time to make a statement in the most prestigious games, Champions League games, because it’s beautiful when you play in the Champions League. So, for us, we want to make a statement.”
Can Galatasaray win the UCL?
Galatasaray are hoping to become the first Turkish club in history to win the UEFA Champions League title.
However, they face a very tough task as no team outside of Europe’s top five leagues has won the competition since Porto’s triumph in 2003-04.
However, the club will need to keep Victor Osimhen very fit to stand a chance of ending their campaign in impressive form.
The Nigerian forward has been a revelation for the club since his initial loan deal last season.
He broke multiple records to guide them to league and cup glory and will be hoping to add the European trophy to his collection by the end of the campaign.
