First half: Eagles dominate, take lead into the break

Crystal Palace were unbeaten in their last four outings against Manchester United and started the clash quite well with several chances to take the lead.

The home side were awarded a penalty soon after Leny Yoro clumsily brought down Mateta in the area.

The Palace forward scored his initial attempt which was then ruled out for a double touch, before sending Senne Lammens the wrong way the second time to give the hosts a 1-0 lead.

Second half: United complete comeback, Uche comes on for Palace

Manchester United upped the tempo in the second half and got their equalizer when Zirkzee scored from an impossible angle from a Bruno Fernandes free-kick.

The comeback was then completed as Mason Mount scored from another set-piece which beat Dean Henderson in the Palace goal.

Super Eagles midfielder Christantus Uche, who has endured a disappointing spell so far at the Eagles, came on later in the clash but could not help them avoid a 2-1 defeat in front of their home fans.

Man United get statement win

Manchester United sealed a first win in five meetings over Crystal Palace and bounced back from last Monday’s disappointing 1-0 loss to 10-man Everton.

The win also moves them into sixth place on the league standings, ahead of Palace who are seventh.
