The Super Eagles of Nigeria will take on Portugal in an international friendly in September. Nigeria was scheduled to play Guinea-Bissau in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in September, but the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has shifted the double-header to March 2023.
The secretary general of the NFF, Muhammad Sanusi, has confirmed that they’re preparing for the Super Eagles of Nigeria friendly against Portugal.

The friendly encounter is expected to take place in September, which means that Man United forward Cristiano Ronaldo could face the Nigerian Super Eagles.

It will be the first time Nigeria and Portugal will be meeting at a senior level.
Both countries have met three times at the U-20 level with Portugal winning all three games.
Ronaldo’s Portugal will start their 2022 World Cup campaign against the Black Stars of Ghana, which means a game against a nation similar to Nigeria will do Portugal a lot of good before they face off against Ghana.
