The Super Eagles of Nigeria will take on Portugal in an international friendly in September, Nigeria were scheduled to play Guinea-Bissau in 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in September, but the double-header has been shifted to March 2023 by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
The secretary general of the NFF Muhammad Sanusi has confirmed that they’re preparing for the Super Eagles of Nigeria friendly against Portugal.

The friendly encounter is expected to hold in September which means that Man United forward Cristiano Ronaldo could be facing the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

It will be the first time Nigeria and Portugal will be meeting at senior level.
Both countries have met three times at the U-20 level with Portugal winning all three games.
Ronaldo’s Portugal will start their 2022 World Cup campaign against the Black Stars of Ghana, which means, a game against a similar nation like Nigeria will do the Portugal a lot of good before they face off against Ghana.
