The football world is anticipating the prestigious Ballon d’Or awards for 2023. On Wednesday, September 6, 2023, France Football unveiled its 30-player shortlist, featuring the best talents in men’s and women’s football, along with rising stars and exceptional goalkeepers.
2023 World Cup winner Lionel Messi, alongside Erling Haaland, Mohamed Salah, and Kevin De Bruyne, are among the nominees for the award, which will be presented to the winner in Paris on October 30.
The Women’s shortlist also features talents like England’s Millie Bright, Rachel Daly, Mary Earps, and Georgia Stanway.
Spanish and Barcelona midfielder Aitana Bonmati, who was recently named the Uefa Women’s Player of the Year, is also included.
