Barcelona has been busy making top signings in the summer transfer window, and their updated salary list for the new season is staggering.
Despite Barcelona’s financial crisis, it hasn’t stopped the Spanish Giant from splashing the cash on players; Barcelona’s annual report showed that its total debt rose to a huge €1.173 billion.
Currently, they’ve signed Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessie on free transfers and splashed out around £140 million for the signings of Lewandowski from Bayern Munich, Jules Kounde from Sevilla, and Brazilian winger Raphinha from Leeds United.
Barcelona will need to offload some players to balance their wage bill; sitting on top of the list is Dutch midfielder De Jong. His weekly wage is €560,962, which is why the club is trying so hard to sell the player this summer.
