Following knee surgery on Monday, Chelsea’s midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka is set to face a six-week absence from the pitch.
Chukwuemeka of Chelsea suffered this injury during the team’s 3-1 loss to West Ham, a match in which he scored Chelsea’s only goal.
As a high-profile £20 million summer acquisition from Aston Villa, he was a key starter in Chelsea’s initial two Premier League fixtures of the season.

“Bitter sweet feeling scoring my 1st goal for Chelsea but picking up an injury and not coming home with 3 points. Minor setback but I’ll be back very soon Thank you Chelsea fans for your love & support”
Carney Chukwuemeka tweeted
The Blues has officially confirmed that Chukwuemeka has undergone surgery and is now set to embark on his rehabilitation journey. He will be closely supported by the club’s medical team at their state-of-the-art Cobham training facility.
