  • Casemiro, former Real Madrid player, reportedly regrets his 2022 move to Manchester United.
  • Despite early success at Old Trafford, Casemiro has faced criticism for his form this season.
  • Man United is reportedly considering Benfica’s young midfielder, Joao Neves, as a potential replacement.

The Brazilian midfielder is said to be experiencing regret following his switch from Real Madrid to Manchester United in 2022.

The Santiago Bernabeu faithful will remember him fondly, as he played an important role in their midfield alongside the likes of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric.

After a remarkable nine-year spell with Los Blancos, Casemiro decided to move from La Liga to the Premier League.

Casemiro’s first season with the Red Devils left a lasting impression, as he played a pivotal role in securing the EFL Cup, ending the club’s six-year trophy drought.

During the 2022-23 campaign, Casemero made 51 competitive appearances, contributing seven goals and seven assists to the team’s success.

In the current season, the Brazilian midfielder remains a prominent figure in the United squad, having started in eight of the club’s nine Premier League games.

However, he has faced challenges in finding his top form in the early stages of the season, which has not gone unnoticed, drawing criticism from certain quarters of the fans.

Amidst the growing concerns about his form, El Nacional reports that Casemiro is grappling with regrets over his decision to join Manchester United.

The 31-year-old appears to regret his departure from Real Madrid, where he amassed a trove of honors, including five Champions League trophies and three La Liga titles.

This report has also cast shadows of doubt over Casemiro’s long-term future at Old Trafford, as Manchester United is rumored to be eyeing Benfica’s prodigious midfielder, Joao Neves.

Meanwhile, Casemiro remains committed to the Red Devils with a contract running until the summer of 2026, including an option for an additional year.

Casemero missed Saturday’s 2-1 victory over Sheffield United due to an ankle injury sustained during his international duty with the Brazil national team.

Casemiro is set to miss the upcoming Champions League clash against Copenhagen due to suspension. Still, he remains hopeful of a quick recovery to feature in the eagerly anticipated Manchester derby on Sunday.
