Chelsea’s bank account has been suspended temporarily by Barclays due to the sanctions on Abramovich by the UK government.

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich was suspended by the United Kingdom government; suspended from transactions with UK businesses and individuals.

Chelsea workers with corporate credit cards won’t be able to make use of them, because Chelsea’s Barclays account has been frozen.

Club owner Abramovich was sanctioned by the UK government on Thursday, with this decision prevents the Russian billionaire from making profits in the UK.

Chelsea won’t also be able to sell new tickets nor sign new players, however, the UK government will allow existing ticket holders to attend matches.

However, Chelsea are hopeful the suspension will be lifted shortly.
Under the special license, Chelsea is still able to meet up with fixtures while staff will continue to be paid and existing ticket holders are allowed to attend matches.

The UK government cleared the Blues to continue the process of selling the club after sanctioning Roman Abramovich.
