Hutchinson started his football journey with Chelsea in 2008 before catching the eye of Charlton Athletic in 2012. He was spotted playing football in the Addicks’ car park while his younger brother, Oshaye, was training with the youth team.

While at Charlton, he grabbed the attention of North London rivals Arsenal after impressing in a game against them. Hutchinson left Charlton after two years with the club. Trials with Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, and Brentford followed, but all failed. Hutchinson took a year off from academy football to play futsal with pals before joining Arsenal’s under-12 squad.

During his time at Charlton, Hutchinson caught the eye of North London rivals Arsenal after delivering an impressive performance against them. After two years at Charlton, Hutchinson parted ways with the club. Despite trials with Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, and Brentford, none were successful. Career in the club

In November 2020, Omari Hutchinson signed his first professional deal with Arsenal. On January 9, 2022, he was named to the Arsenal senior team bench for the first time in their 1-0 FA Cup defeat to Nottingham Forest.

Omari Hutchinson rejoined Chelsea for an unknown sum on July 16, 2022. Hutchinson made his professional debut on January 5, 2023, as a second-half substitute in a 1-0 home loss to Manchester City.

Early career

In 2008, Hutchinson joined Chelsea, where he began his career. During the latter part of July 2023, Hutchinson’s father revealed in a video uploaded on Chelsea’s official website that his son had been released from Chelsea twice as a child.

In 2012, he was spotted by Charlton Athletic and signed by the club while playing football in the Addicks car park. At the same time, his brother, Oshaye, was participating in training with the young team. Arsenal, a rival club from North London, took notice of him while he was playing for Charlton because he had performed exceptionally well in a match against them.

The first professional contract that Hutchinson ever signed was with Arsenal, and it was signed in November of 2020. On January 9, 2022, the Arsenal senior team suffered a defeat to Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup by a score of 1-0. He was given the opportunity to participate in the game as a substitute for the first time.

Return to Chelsea

On July 16, 2022, Hutchinson made his return to Chelsea for an undisclosed fee. He made his professional league debut on January 5, 2023, coming on as a substitute in the second half of a home match against Manchester City. The game ended in a 1-0 loss.

Loan to Ipswich Town

On July 20, 2023, Hutchinson reached an agreement to join Ipswich Town, a freshly promoted Championship club, on loan for the duration of the season.

International career opportunities

Although he was born in England, Hutchinson is of Jamaican ancestry. He has played for England’s Under-17 and Under-19 teams and is also a youth international.

In May 2022, he was called up to the Jamaica national team, and in the same month, he made his debut in an unofficial capacity during a loss to Catalonia by a score of 6–0. Chelsea informed Hutchinson in November 2022 that he would not be required to report for international duty with Jamaica. This was communicated to him in order to allow him to participate in first-team matches with The Blues.

On March 11, 2023, he made his first official start for Jamaica, which was a loss to Trinidad & Tobago by a score of 1-0.
